Volunteer to Harvest Food to Donate to Charity and Get in Some Mitzvahs Before Rosh Hashanah

Volunteer with Food Forward

In partnership with Netiya, volunteers will help Food Forward harvest excess fruit which will then be donated to local food pantries across Los Angeles. Please wear comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes. A hat and sunscreen are strongly recommended.


  • Where: Property in Chatsworth (details to follow upon registration)
  • When: 9:00am – 11:30am
  • Volunteer #: 70 volunteers. Family friendly activity. Kids 5+ can participate, but no one under 15 can be on ladders. There will be plenty of accessible fruit for kids with pickers, though.

Volunteer tasks include picking fruit.

No children under 5 please.


NETIYA, in partnership with The Jewish Federation, is a Jewish network that gardens to tithe food; organizes to mitigate hunger in LA; and informs to seed a more just and resilient food system.
